As part of our community engagement and charitable activities we have been giving something back in our sixth year of operations. As well as keeping our clients safe with their process operations, one of our key aims is to help to give back to the communities around us, and have a positive impact on the lives of others with OTECSAs charitable efforts.
In the past year our community payback has been focussed on three areas:
- Health charities
- Enterprise education charities
- Community sports sponsorship
As well as our charitable donations and community initiatives OTECSA is working on new initiatives to support community organisations with their Health and Safety obligations.
This year we have dedicated a significant portion of our profits to these causes including:
OTECSA Charitable Efforts
A donation to Blood Bikes Scotland who support the NHS in Scotland with critical blood supply deliveries with their fleet of motorbikes as the “Rapid response medical courier charity”.
“When time is of the essence, we deliver essential medical items on demand between hospitals, healthcare facilities and patients’ homes, supporting both primary and secondary healthcare services.”
A donation to Young Enterprise Scotland who support young people across Scotland with enterprise education, events and other initiatives. This followed a loss in regular funding from the Scottish Government in the summer, and OTECSA was proud to be part of a business community fundraising effort to bridge the gap and help to keep YES delivering their vital services.
“Young Enterprise Scotland offers a wide variety of enterprise & financial education programmes and development opportunities for young people across all of Scotland.“
Community Sponsorship
As well as our charitable donations, OTECSA continue to support the Giffnock Tennis, Squash and Hockey Club with sponsorship across their sports programmes. This key community club in OTECSAs home town helps people of all ages enjoy sports including free training and coaching for all members.
The Future’s Bright
Like our company colours, the future is bright. Our team have been planning further activities and charitable efforts to help support more initiatives use our professional skills in more ways than doing the day job. Each month the team gathers to discuss progress on personal projects to develop our community engagement and charitable efforts, including individual and group based activities, volunteering and fundraising.
Managing Director Owen Llanwarne had this to say about OTECSAs Charitable Efforts:
“I’m delighted that we can have a positive impact on our communities through successful delivery of work that we all enjoy and earns us time off to think and plan these kind of initiatives. It’s great to see the team come together and think of ways we can benefit causes close to our hearts.”
